Friendly staff made our stay enjoyable.
The room was poorly maintained with peeling wallpaper and a dirty sink. I was disappointed to find no place to hang my clothes or lay out my toiletries in the bathroom. the outside looked very unkempt, giving a bad first impression.

The burgers around Scalby are a must-try, each bite a culinary adventure! The breakfast on Saturday was spot on—top-notch grub cooked to perfection, and the staff were an absolute gem.
The outside had a bit of a scruffy vibe, but inside was cozy. A little more attention to the details like curtains and decor would up the charm, but it still felt welcoming.

Needs a bit of TLC
I stayed one night, and the place had potential but looked a bit rough. The front yard had random stuff lying around, and the porch was crowded. The room was decent, though. Breakfast was alright, nothing fancy but filled me up. Just wish they took better care outside.

It was just an ideal choice for a brief pause in Scalby with good value considering the price it charged. I appreciated the comfortable bed after a long drive, making my stay worthwhile. Make sure to bring your own toiletries as there's no shelf in the bathroom for your items.
